Each year Verbier welcomes stars from the alpine skiing world to this unique event, which pits members of the public against some of the best skiers from the competition circuit.

There are four disciplines of competition - ski cross, giant slalom, the flying kilometre and the trampoline. The best 8 participants in each of the men's and women's races qualify for the finals. After this, two finalists from each category will have the chance to take on the professionals in the Super Final.

You will need to be at least 18 years old to take part. Pro racers for this year yet to be announced, but you'll be able to find that out shortly on the Verbier High Five website, where you can also find how to sign up.

Distribution of bibs and welcoming this year's athletes will take place on Friday 7th April, with the main event taking place on Saturday 8th April from 08:30 at Chalet Carlsberg. DJs and live concerts play throughout the event, followed by apres-ski with live music and a BBQ at the Pub Mont Fort.

It's a great event to come and watch even if you don't take part, as you can meet some of the ski racing greats on the piste side, get their autographs, grab a few selfies or maybe even enjoy a drink with them at the after party.
