Whilst there is nothing official organised in Verbier for celebrating New Year's Eve, it is nonetheless renowned for it's NYE celebrations.
There will be fireworks, partying in the square and flying Champagne corks.
There's no official fireworks, but the exclusive hotels put on their own displays - the W hotel's are pretty impressive, but often it's the owners of private chalets, nestled in the hills, who have hired professionals for the night to put on the best pyrotechnics (and to get one up on their neighbours). They go on for a few hours and wherever you stand in the village you're sure of a good view.
Head to Place Centrale for one of the best views in town, and consequently join the biggest outdoor party at midnight. After midnight most will head home or to a club to continue the party - all the bars and clubs are ticketed for New Year's Eve so make sure you've bought your tickets in advance. Hotel Farinet is popular, and located right in the centre of town so you won't miss a thing.
