Verbier Self-Catered Apartments

Discover the best apartments in Verbier to rent

Updated

Renting an apartment is the best option when searching for self-catered accommodation on your ski trip or summer holiday to Verbier, especially for small groups of friends or family.

Very popular among visitors, apartments in Verbier come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, ranging from small and functional studios to large flats with five-star luxury facilities. They are quite flexible in terms of catering choices and, sometimes, dates and duration of stay. Because they’re generally self-catered, apartments tend to be cheaper than catered chalets, so they are a great choice when looking for a budget-friendly base at the foot of the slopes.

We’ve written a complete guide on apartment rentals in Verbier to help you make the most of your ski trip. Read on for the best insider's tips.

3 things to look out for when booking an apartment in Verbier

It couldn't be easier to book an apartment in Verbier. All you have to do is fill in the box at the top of this page or visit our Holiday Rentals page, featuring a great selection of apartments and chalets handpicked by us from a list of accommodation providers. To start your booking process, set your requirements – at least your arrival date and number of people – and we’ll show you which properties are available.

There are a few things you may want to consider beforehand to make sure you find the perfect ski apartment:

1. When should you book your apartment?
We recommend you book your apartment as soon as possible. Holiday rentals usually sell out quite quickly and a lot of people book as early as January for the next winter season. Our top tip is that you book your accommodation before buying your flights or train ticket, the reason being that availability may be limited and apartment start/end dates are not always as flexible as travel options.

As for the best time to stay in an apartment, they're usually open for bookings during the winter and summer high seasons – from December to April and from June to September. However, some accommodation companies may offer interseason holiday rentals for large parties – specify your desired dates in the Special Requirements box while booking and our team will get back to you with alternative options.

2. How long should you book your apartment for?
Ski apartments in Verbier are generally rented on a weekly basis, usually from Saturday to Saturday. However, these dates can occasionally be flexible and some companies may provide a mix of Saturday and Sunday changeovers.

Lately, thanks to the increased offer in flights, especially cheap ones, shorter and longer ski breaks are becoming more and more popular so some accommodation companies may be flexible on their rental dates on request. Therefore, even if you can only find seven-day offers on our Holiday Rentals page, we may be able to accommodate shorter and longer bookings – state your desired dates in the Special Requirements box and we’ll get back to you with alternative options.

On the other hand, summer apartment bookings in Verbier are generally more flexible on dates and length of stay, especially outside the peak months of July and August. This means that you may be able to come for a long weekend, for ten days or for a few days mid-week more easily. Again, state your requirements in the Special Requirements box while booking.

3. How big is your group?
Apartments to rent in Verbier range from small studios to large chalet-apartments, making them suitable for all sorts of parties, from couples looking for a romantic escapade to families or groups of friends. Before booking your apartment, you’ll need to know the exact number of people and the ages of the children coming with you on your holiday – you can filter our holiday rentals by capacity at the top of the page.

Family apartments in Verbier

Verbier is really well set up for mountain-loving families, with plenty of activities for all ages and a host of family-friendly apartments.

Where can you find family-friendly apartments in Verbier?
There are usually a few things at the top of your list when searching for accommodation for you and your family, one of the most important requirements being peace and quiet. That's why steering away from the busy centre of Verbier may be a wise choice when travelling with children. La Tzoumaz is a great little town with great access to the 4 Vallées ski area. With a handful of restaurants and a much smaller apres-ski scene than Verbier, La Tzoumaz is well-known for its family-friendly feel.

Across the valley in Bruson, there is less choice when it comes to self-catering accommodation but there are a handful of options to be found. If you do decide to stay in Bruson you will be basing yourself in a charming village with great skiing but very little in terms of nightlife and apres ski. While there are several restaurants in the town, this is a place to come for peace and quiet and great skiing rather than all-night partying.

Staying down the valley in Le Chable is definitely a cheaper option than booking self-catering accommodation in Verbier itself. Your apartment may be at the bottom of the hill but the cable car will whisk you straight up into the Verbier ski area within minutes – just remember that the last one down is at around 18:30!
