Great snow on and off the piste in Verbier

It's been a very snowy start of the season in Verbier

Verbier's enjoyed a pretty incredible start of the season, with snow falling since the end of October almost weekly, which allowed for an early opening of the lifts in mid-November.

There are currently around 30cm of snow in Verbier resort, at 1500m, with around 80cm in Les Ruinettes (2200m) and 160cm up on Gentianes (2950m). More than half of the lifts and runs are open, with more expected to open as we approach the Christmas holidays.

Temperatures have been quite soft this week but the snow has kept nice and cold. The forecast is for overcast skies on Saturday and a lot more snow on Sunday, continuing into Monday and even Tuesday morning. Christmas day will be a mixture of clouds and sunshine, perfect to enjoy the fresh powder!
