Verbier Snow Report: 26th February 2014

Fresh snow to see the week out, before a sunny weekend

featured in Snow Report Author Robin Deering, Verbier Editor Updated

February continues to be fabulous here in Verbier, with fresh snow at the start of the week followed by blue skies and some warming sunshine.

Simon from Bluebird Seasonaire made some fresh tracks down the Mache off piste itinerary where the "snow was great over Siviez/Tyon side. On Verbier side snow was 15-20 deep but with a layer of crust under this making off-piste a bit bumpy and getting dangerous in the afternoon sun.

Great powder all weekend and into Monday after another snowfall Saturday night.
Still fresh powder to be found if people are happy to hike or going skining to reach the untouched stuff."

Meanwhile the instructors from Adrenaline have been basking in the sun down on the beginner slopes of Essert where conditions have been just perfect for snow newbies.

There is currently 172 cm of snow at altitude and 50cm down in resort. The avalanche risk has dropoed to a 2/5.

The forecast today is overcast with a few more flakes before a clearing up tomorrow.

The Park 9 event is coming up in a few weeks and is open to freestyle skiers and boarders, so get practising and get a team together now.

Send us your own snow reports & photos and we'll be sure to give you a mention.

Bon ski!
