Snow Report 7/12/22
Ok so winter has arrived and with it the snow and very cold weather here in Verbier. Regular snowfall is in the forecast and the accumulation of snow continues.
After good snowfall on Sunday we have a top snow depth of around 40cm and at the base around 10cm. The next snow, around 13cm is currently reported for Friday and looks to continue for a few days. The freeze thaw conditions for the next week range from a maximum of -4°C and down to a minimum of -18°C by Sunday night.
It’s exciting to see the resort all white again, the mountains adorned with skiers and restaurants and bars open and buzzing once again.
There's quite a mix of snow quality out there, soft and powdery on the high north facing slopes but where it's windy the snow is a little hard and icy. The latest snowfall was below 1500m and as it is so cold out there the snow cannons can be run. Take care out there as some lower areas only have thin snow cover and you could encounter rocks and dips.
