1. Sentier des Sens, La Tzoumaz

Location
Verbier

Open up your senses on this short walk and see the beautiful scenery, hear the wildlife, smell the alpine flowers.

The Sentier des Sens walk takes you right into nature. You will find all your senses come alive as you feel the flowing rivers and rough granite rocks, and maybe taste some wild strawberries or blueberries along the way, if you can find them.

This walk is suitable for the whole family including pushchairs, it is also wheelchair friendly.

2. Pierre Avoi via Le Château

Location
Verbier

Verbier Castle once stood overlooking the Val De Bagnes valley, and is believed to have been built in the 12th or 13th century by the Count of Savoy.

To this day only the ruins of the castle remain after the building was destroyed in the Battle of La Planta in the 15th century. 

Although scarce, the ruins are worth a visit to appreciate the history of Verbier during the medieval era.

3. Bisse du Levron

Verbier

With a relatively small altitude gain this walk is an ideal starting place for those who wish to complete more routes around Verbier.

Discover the path of sculptures on the last leg of the Bisse du Levron (Levron Waterway), near the place known as La Marlénaz. All the sculptures were made using a chainsaw by former ski champion, William Besse.

4. Fontaney Cabine Mont Fort

Between Les Ruinettes and La Chaux, at an altitude of 2,300m, the art works exhibited are created by international artists invited to display their creations in Verbier every two years. 

Accessible throughout the year, the Verbier 3-D Sculpture Park creates a space where art and ecology meet the mountain. Everyone can therefore enjoy a visit to this museum without walls and experiment in their own way

5. Le Tour des Villages, Le Châble

Le Chable

At just under 20km this walk is an opportunity to visit various museums, churches, chapels and the old mill at Sarreyer - just some of the sights you can expect to see.

6. Sentier des Chamois

Location
Verbier

This one way walk requires you to take the bus back to Verbier, so please be aware of the departure times.

The hike finishes in Fionnay where you can grab a bite to eat or if you're feeling hungry along the route, a great place to stop is the refuge Cabane de Louvie, where they offer local cuisine and even a bed for the night if you feel this walk was too much for one day.

7. Bisse des Ravines, Bruson

Verbier

The Bisse des Ravines was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Its recent rehabilitation highlights the diverse techniques used to build these old irrigation channels. 

The return journey goes through La Arbellaire, and enables you to visit the the barns so typical of Bruson Village.

8. Lac des Vaux

This walk provides an introduction to varied landscapes.

9. Croix de Coeur

Location
Verbier

Mostly downhill this walk is suitable for the whole family. Take the chairlift up then gently make your way back down to Verbier.

10. Pierre Avoi, La Tzoumaz

The Pierre Avoi summit is a 170m limestone tower.

Pierre Avoi comes from the latin 'Petra Acuta' meaning 'Sharp Stone', and its summit is reachable by a series of ladders and chains after a three hour climb from the village of La Tzoumaz.

This one way walk requires you to either follow your ascent route back to the village or take the cable car down to avoid bashing those knees for another three hours.

11. Tour du Mont-Fort

Verbier

This full day hike will take you around the highest peak in the Verbier ski area. 

With almost 1,000m of ascent and descent it's not for the faint of heart.

For those of you up for it, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the whole mountain plus there are plenty of places to stop for lunch along the way. Take a refreshing dip in one of the many lakes that you will pass, such as the green waters of Lac de Cleuson.
