A half day hike passing by the 13th century ruins of Verbier Castle
Verbier Castle once stood overlooking the Val De Bagnes valley, and is believed to have been built in the 12th or 13th century by the Count of Savoy.
To this day only the ruins of the castle remain after the building was destroyed in the Battle of La Planta in the 15th century.
Although scarce, the ruins are worth a visit to appreciate the history of Verbier during the medieval era.
