What's on in Verbier September 2018
All the best events taking place in resort for the coming month
September is the perfect time to visit Verbier, as it calms down after a busy summer season.
Summer isn't quite over in the Swiss resort, with a whole host of activities and events still to come. Here's a quick rundown of some of the best. From motorbikes to mountain bikes, cheese festivals to skate competitions, there's plenty on offer this September.
Verbier Bike Fest, September 7th to 9th
Thousands of motorbike enthusiasts descend on Verbier for the three day Bike Fest with riding, parties, demonstrations, concerts and other entertainments. Expect to see a full on Harley show as well as stunts & FMX demos, a US car show, American dancers, and loud music. Rock on!
Swiss Epic MTB race, September 11th to 15th
Swiss Epic MTB race is a five day multi-stage mountain bike adventure in the Swiss Alps. Professional and ambitious amateur cyclists in teams of two will ride some incredible single track trails through the Valais Alps. The Perskindol Swiss Epic 2018 edition will feature the stopover locations of Bettmeralp, Grachen and Zermatt, creating a largely new route.
Raclette Cheese Festival, September 22nd to 23rd
This weekend gives visitors the chance to sample many raclette cheeses from the Valais region, washed down with locally grown wines. The festival is part of the Semaine du Gôut (Taste Week) and takes place in Le Chable. There will be a Combat of Queens on Saturday at 12:00, and don't miss the parade of cows on Sunday at 14:00.
Skate competition, September 25th
A skate competition with prize money to be won, the VS Open comes to the Verbier skatepark in Le Chable on September 25th, with DJs, bouncy castle, climbing wall, food and drink, and of course, awesome skating action.
Verbier Gravel Challenge, September 29th
With the emergence of gravel riding, Kudos Cycling thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase the wide diversity of riding in the Val de Bagnes region, using the smooth descents on tarmac and the climbing on the numerous quiet gravel roads that zig-zag through the fields and forests throughout the area. Join them for a fun day out on Saturday 29th September 2018 and experience more on your road bike.
