Verbier is feeling properly settled into winter as Christmas week arrives. The village has that busy but relaxed festive hum, with snow-covered slopes rising straight out of town and plenty of activity both on and off the mountain. Up high the snowpack looks well established, and after a steady build through December there is a sense that the season has found its rhythm just in time for the holidays.

Snow and Weather Summary

Current snow depths in Verbier remain strongest at altitude, with upper slopes holding a solid base and skiing well across the main sectors. Recent snowfall earlier in the month helped lay down foundations that have been preserved by consistently cold overnight temperatures. In the village and on lower pistes, coverage is thinner but improving, supported by snowmaking and colder nights. Over the next few days the forecast points to mostly stable conditions, with temperatures staying below freezing at altitude and only light snowfall possible. Winds are expected to remain moderate, meaning lift operations should be largely unaffected and conditions on exposed ridges manageable.

Outlook & Whatโ€™s On

The weather outlook through the Christmas period looks calm rather than dramatic, which should help maintain snow quality on prepared pistes. Verbier is fully open for the festive week, with access across the wider 4 Vallรฉes ski area offering plenty of terrain choice. Christmas events, live music and seasonal celebrations are taking place around the village, adding to the atmosphere for those staying in resort. With good snow at altitude and stable conditions forecast, this is shaping up to be a strong Christmas week for skiing.

Snow Takeaway

Verbier is offering reliable Christmas skiing, particularly on higher terrain where snow depth and quality are at their best. Lower runs are more variable but improving steadily, and overall conditions are well suited to festive week skiing. Expect the best turns early in the day and plenty of good options across the upper mountain.
