Verbier wouldn't be the resort it is without a good dose of après-ski to end the day.
There is no shortage of places to go for a few drinks and some live music after a day on the mountain.
Whether you prefer to soak up the late afternoon sun with a quiet glass of French wine or dance on the tables in your ski boots, beer jug in hand, Verbier has plenty of great spots when the lifts shut for the day.
With a lively and vibrant après-ski scene, Verbier has plenty of spots opening their doors to welcome you off the pistes.
Up on the mountain is Verbier's equivalent of La Folie Douce, Le Mouton Noir. You'll find DJs and live performers on their terrace all winter long. Happy Hour is every day from 15:00 to 16:00. Also up the mountain, at the top of the Médran lift station is Ice Cube Bar with its own resident DJ, open all day you can also grab a bite to eat here to keep you going, and Happy Hour is 15:00-16:00.
By the bottom of the Médran cable car is Pub Mont Fort or the “Pub” as it’s referred to by locals, open daily during the ski season from 15:00. With its large sunny terrace, weekly drinks promotions and handy location it’s the perfect place to meet up with friends. Fancy dress parties, sports on the big screen, a great snack menu with famous burgers, and summer BBQs all make this place one of Verbier's favourite bars. Happy Hour runs daily from 16:00-17:00 and they have regular live music from some of the best bands on the après scene too.
One of the best places to stop off during the afternoon and continue on late into the night is The Farinet Lounge Bar, it has a great range of cocktails, a log fire to warm up next to and live DJs every night during the winter until 02:00. Also at The Farinet is the aptly named Farinet Après-Ski Bar, which has live music every day of the week, open from 16:00 to 21:00.
Another famous après-ski bar at the bottom of the Rouge piste in Verbier town is Le Rouge, the party starts at 15:00 on their large terrace with resident DJs playing house music.
If you're looking for some late night fun you're in luck, there are several bars and clubs in Verbier that stay open until the early hours of the morning.
The Farm Club is one of the oldest and most well known nightclubs in the Alps, first opening its doors back in 1971. Farm Club's reputation as one of the best venues in the Alps remains unchallenged and no visit to Verbier would be complete without a visit. Open daily throughout the winter season from 23:00-04:00.
Other spots to check out during your stay include Farinet South, expect live sports action on the big screens, pool and international and local craft beers. DJs keep the party going until 04:00. Carve is an exclusive bar and nightclub with a supper club that opens from 19:30-22:30, serving classic Swiss cuisine with a contemporary twist. Then it's on to the bar where you can party the night away until 04:00 to the sounds of one of their resident DJs.
If you're looking for a more civilised evening or have something to celebrate, there are several hotel bars in the resort that cater to wine enthusiasts, cocktail aficionados and casual drinkers alike, and many will also have live music. Some offer a little snack alongside your choice of beverages, ranging from a bowl of nibbles to an entire tapas board.
If hotel lounge-bars are your thing, Verbier has plenty of high end luxury hotels with swanky bars to welcome guests. We like Experimental Chalet Hotel, home to The Farm and a signature cocktail bar. Hotel Farinet is only five minutes walk from the ski lifts, live music can be enjoyed in their après ski bar every evening, and the cocktail bar hosts live DJs to enjoy whilst you peruse the exotic cocktail menu.
Also worth a visit is Al Capone Wine Bar, situated next to the Savoleyres gondola, you'll enjoy panoramic views from their terrace whilst you enjoy a glass from their extensive wine list. Macbirch Vins is actually a wine shop, where you can sample a few vintages before purchasing a favourite to accompany dinner. Find a spot with the locals on the sunny terrace or head indoors to discover the tucked away bar at the back of the shop. This is a small, sophisticated venue.
Live music is not that hard to find in Verbier. From the smallest bar to the swanky hotel lounges, there's always something on. Specific information regarding weekly line ups can be easily found by simply looking at any of the numerous information boards around resort, where each of the individual bars will post their weekly programmes and promotions.
Le Crock No Name is a trendy, stylish bar which offers live music from 22:30. It’s a great place to let your hair down and have a dance to one of their brilliant live sets. It's small, intimate and sexy. The bar closes at 02:00.
