At the end of the Bagnes valley this charming refuge is open all year
Originally built in 1890, it was renovated in 2021 in a style blending modern comfort with authentic charm.
Owned by the Geneva section of the Swiss Alpine Club (CAS), it has always been popular with alpinists and due to its proximity to the Italian border it was used as a look-out point during World War One.
Open both summer and winter, you will receive a warm welcome from the wardens, who also offer their baby sitting services should you be there with small children.
With a total of 59 beds over 13 dormitories, the refuge operates on a half-board basis. It is the perfect place to stop over for a night or to use as a base to explore the surrounding lakes and mountains.
The restaurant serves homemade dishes is also open during the day for passing hikers and skiers.
