About biking trails in Verbier
With around 400km of mountain biking trails here's our guide to the best in the area
In and around Verbier there is a wide choice of single track, freeride, downhill and cross-country routes for riders of every ability.
If you're new to mountain biking or just looking for easier trails to ride, there are a small handful of routes lasting around 40 minutes to an hour, and some nice 4x4 tracks or fire roads to ride on.
Upping the ante a little, there are a handful of medium (blue) graded downhill tracks, and a number of red, yellow and black trails which are for more experienced and technical riders.
Tour du Mont Fort
If you're looking for a full day challenge, then the TMF is around 60km of lung-busting ascents (+2,263m) and -3,112m of descent. It starts from Verbier and heads to Les Planards, Savoleyres, La Tzoumaz, Tracouet, Tortin, the Col des Gentianes, Les Ruinettes, through the Bike Park and back to where you started from.
It's imperative that you set out early if you're attempting this as the eight hour guide is just time spent on your bike, not including uplifts or breaks.
Local guides
If you want to experience the kind of riding where there's only you on the trails, then speak to one of the local mountain bike guides who can point you in the direction of some of the hidden valleys and secret trails.
