Cabane Tortin Chalet

4 bedroom 2 bathroom 250m² Chalet in Verbier

A private luxury mountain retreat at 3,000 metres in Verbier, with ski-in/ski-out access, bespoke dining and extraordinary panoramic Alpine views

Perched at 3,000 metres above Verbier, in the heart of Switzerland’s Four Valleys, Cabane Tortin is an exceptional private mountain retreat offering a rare combination of high-altitude adventure, contemporary architecture and refined comfort. Surrounded by glaciers, snow-covered peaks and vast Alpine landscapes, this exclusive property offers an entirely different perspective on a luxury ski holiday. Accommodating up to 12 guests for a minimum of 3 nights, Cabane Tortin combines the spirit of a traditional mountain refuge with the privacy, design and personalised service of a luxury chalet, in one of the most spectacular settings in the Swiss Alps.

Designed by Norwegian architect Snorre Stinessen, the cabane brings together glass, natural timber and stone in a striking architectural composition that sits harmoniously within its rugged surroundings. The open-plan living area forms the heart of the property, with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows framing uninterrupted views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. A suspended fireplace creates a warm focal point, while carefully considered lighting, natural materials and understated contemporary furnishings provide an inviting contrast to the dramatic mountain environment outside.

The property accommodates up to 12 guests across three bedrooms and a dedicated sleeping area with individual pods for up to six additional guests. The main bedrooms combine natural textures and considered design with comfortable, private spaces for relaxation, while the master suite enjoys its own bathroom and beautiful sunrise views towards Mont Blanc. Throughout the cabane, the emphasis is on simplicity, tranquillity and a close connection to the surrounding landscape, allowing guests to experience the mountains from the comfort of their own private sanctuary.

Dining is an integral part of the Cabane Tortin experience. A dedicated private chef creates bespoke menus tailored to each group's preferences, celebrating the flavours and produce of the Valais region and the wider Swiss Alps. From freshly prepared breakfasts overlooking the mountains to carefully composed evening dinners paired with wines from the property's curated cellar, every meal is designed around the rhythm of the day. The dining area provides a natural gathering place for guests to come together, while the sun terrace offers a spectacular setting for an afternoon aperitif as the light changes across the surrounding peaks.

Wellness and relaxation are equally central to the experience. A beautifully appointed sauna, finished in warm walnut, provides a welcome retreat after a day on the mountain, while the nearby snow plunge offers a refreshing contrast. Outside, the south-facing terrace  creates an atmospheric setting for relaxed evenings beneath the Alpine sky. Far from the lights and activity of the resort, the cabane's remote location also offers exceptional opportunities for stargazing, with the clear night skies revealing a remarkable panorama of stars above the mountains.

Cabane Tortin offers a ski experience unlike that of a traditional chalet in the village. Positioned high above Verbier, with direct access to the surrounding ski terrain, it allows guests to enjoy the mountains before the main resort comes to life and to explore the Four Valleys with the guidance of a dedicated mountain guide. Access to the property is part of the adventure itself, with arrivals arranged by tracked vehicle, ski or snowshoe, depending on conditions. From first tracks on pristine snow to guided off-piste descents and sunset views across the glaciers, every day can be tailored to the group's interests and abilities. Despite its remote setting, Verbier's renowned ski domain remains within reach, while the cabane's exclusive-use format ensures complete privacy throughout the stay.

Combining exceptional altitude, distinctive architecture and highly personalised service, Cabane Tortin is a truly unique Alpine escape for those seeking something beyond the conventional luxury ski chalet. Here, the exhilaration of the mountains meets the comfort of a private retreat, offering an unforgettable setting for sharing extraordinary moments in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
